Weight Management

This program is an exercise and wellness program that helps members initiate and sustain positive healthy habits to last a lifetime. Participants may be evaluated by a physical therapist or assessed by medical program instructors in order for a land/water program to be designed to meet each participant’s specific needs.

 

Individuals have the choice to do their workouts on their own time or during medical program time where staff is available to assist.  The goal of this program is to assist an individual to reach their weight loss goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is a great program for the Together We Can participants to transition into after their 4 weeks.  

 

Other program member benefits include:

·         Help transitioning  into other appropriate YMCA group classes and services

·         Equipment Orientations

·         Re-assessments every 12 weeks with correspondence to your referral physician

Fee:
Evaluation and brief episode of Physical Therapy billed to insurance.
Medical programming is included in your YMCA membership at no additional cost.

Move Well Today

This 12 week evidence-based diabetes exercise and education program is open to all members, specifically to individuals diagnosed as pre-diabetic or with Type 2 diabetes. This class teaches individuals how to track their blood glucose levels and exercise intensity. Participants can access the program through a healthcare provider referral and a copy of your last HBA1c results within 3 months prior to the start of the program.

No cost for YMCA members

4 Weeks to a Healthier You!

This is a 4 week educational program that helps participants gain increased self-confidence to initiate and sustain positive healthy habits. Participants create personalized and realistic goals to achieve long-term change that will last a lifetime.

 

When: Mondays 5:00-6:00pm

Where: Y-HLC Conference Room #1/#2

Registration: Y-HLC Welcome Center

Fee: $25

Class 1: Develop intrinsic motivation towards a lifestyle change

Class 2: Move with Cardio & Strength Exercise

Class 3: Gain Helpful Nutrition Basics

Class 4: How to continue the journey to a healthier lifestyle
